About us

CantaStories is a free lateral thinking riddle game you can play in your browser. We present a short, seemingly impossible situation — a riddle — and your job is to work out what really happened.

How it works

You ask questions that can only be answered Yes, No or Not relevant. On the other side sits an AI narrator that knows the hidden truth behind the riddle. When you think you have got it, you submit your solution and an AI judge compares it with the facts of the story and tells you how close you got.

Why we like it

Lateral thinking riddles train you to question assumptions, to notice details and to reason by hypothesis. They are perfect to play in company: in co-op mode you can share a game with your friends through a link and solve the riddle together.

The stories

CantaStories stories range across crime, mystery, irony of fate, horror, sci-fi and beyond. Every riddle is built to have one coherent solution and a final "aha!", but never a single piece of useless information: the truth is all there, you just have to ask the right questions.
